Frankenstein's Monster as you have never seen him before, completely customised in unique designs by some of the UK's top artists from the prop-making and movie Special FX make-up industries.
25 of the UK's top prop-making, sculpting and SPFX make-up artists have been brought together to take part in a unique charity project. Each artist has been given a bespoke Frankenstein-inspired monster bust, created and supplied by SVFX University of Bolton Special & Visual Effects team, with the simple instruction: Customise him into any design you like.
Once customised, the artists then donate the finished bust back to the Monster Charity Project organisers who will auction them off via an online auction site. 100% of the proceeds raised from the auction will be donated to Make-A-Wish UK. All the artists and the back room project crew donate their time and skills totally free of charge.
Last year the same project team raised a staggering £28,000 for Make-A-Wish at Star Wars Celebration London with a similar project featuring an iconic Star Wars Helmet. 30 artists took part creating such custom designs as Deadpool, Judge Dredd , Batman and a Studio Ghibli inspired design.
The busts will be going on a UK tour during 2017 taking in such conventions as Horror Con UK, finishing the year at Creaturegeddon where many of the featured artists can be seen sharing their work and also available for a chat. The Monster Charity Project is also in talks to have the display featured at the very popular Grimmfest event in Manchester.
People will be able to start viewing the completed busts from May 2017 via various social media outlets and the above mentioned conventions, the project busts then go to auction on October 31st 2017, ending November 5th 2017

A Long December by Richard Chizmar Collects Over Two Decades of Writing – And Earns Stephen King’s Seal of Approval!
Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble Today
Richard Chizmar’s A Long December collects 35 of his most popular stories, including a never-before-seen novella titled, A Long December. This collection spans over two decade’s worth of writing. As the founder and publisher of Cemetery Dance Publications, Chizmar has had almost 30 years of experience in the book industry. Now, A Long December debuts to showcase his own imagination. It is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in both paperback and e-book versions.
“Powerful…I love it… Richard Chizmar writes clean, no-nonsense prose,” says Stephen King. “[He] sets his tales in no-nonsense, middle class neighborhoods I can relate to…and writes terrific stories served with a very large slice of Disquiet Pie,” says King.
Whether you read horror, dark fiction, fantasy, mystery, or suspense – there’s a story waiting for you in A Long December. Chizmar’s work is acquiring new praise frequently as he branches out in the publishing industry. His latest release features 35 of the stories he’s written over the last two decades. This includes the acclaimed Midnight Promises, a unique and realistic love story he wrote after his own experience with cancer.
“I’ve never been able to write a big monster story that is more about the monster than it is about the people,” says Richard Chizmar. “For me, it always starts with the people. And yeah, those winter months can be dark times, there’s not as much daylight, it’s a time that people are more depressed. I love the snow, I love the bare trees, the whole Ray Bradbury-esque fall, the Earth dying and turning into winter.”
A Long December combines new, never before seen fiction with previous reader favorites.
“This is a must-read for fans of intense tales where psychological suspense and horror overlap, as with the novels of Peter Straub, Scott Smith, or Adam Nevill,”
says a Starred Booklist Review.
“Each tale in The Long December is a magic trick, luring you toward the light while leading you down an ever-darkening path,” says Entertainment Weekly. “There is hope mingled with horror, and that’s the author’s secret power. His storytelling always beats with a huge, passionate heart.”
A Long December is a hit for avid readers of several genres, and anyone who loves a good story. It’s available now on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, in Paperback and e-Book Formats. You can visit Chizmar’s website for more information, a full bibliography, readings & signings, and the latest updates. Dark Arts Books to release Redemption, the sequel to the Bram Stoker Award-winning Covenant In January 2017, the long-awaited sequel to John Everson’s Bram Stoker Award-winning first novel Covenant and its erotic horror sequel Sacrifice will be released. The first two novels were published eight years ago by Leisure Books and are currently with 47North Publishing.
There is currently a crowdfunding Kickstarter effort underway for Redemption with offers of autographed copies, having your name included in the book and more.
John had this to say about the release of his new book...
“I always wanted to write a third book in the Covenant series, to tell what happened to two of my favorite characters that I’ve ever written,” Everson says. “And lots of fans have told me over the years that they wanted that book, too. My editor, however, said that series in horror don’t tend to sell very well, and encouraged me to write other novels. So... that's what I've been doing for the past few years. I've published six unrelated novels since Sacrifice came out, and one of them, NightWhere, was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award in 2012.”
With the demise of Leisure Books, Everson opted to “go it alone” with this release.
“In order to connect directly with the fans of those first two books (and hopefully make some new fans of the series!), I’m launching this Kickstarter Campaign so that I can get signed copies of Redemption – as well as the rest of the trilogy if readers want a matching set – in their hands.”

Alex hadn’t really considered what would happen after she dragged Ariana through the portal in a desperate bid to close the gate between worlds. She hadn't given sacrificing herself a thought; she'd just wanted to end the demonic summoning before it was too late. But when Alex wakes up on the other side, in the world of the Curburide, she has to think fast if she ever wants to see Joe Kieran, or Earth, again. Her only ally is an occult serial killer. Demons are searching for both of them, and there’s nothing demons love more than human fear and pain. They feed on it. In the world of the Curburide, the demons are everywhere. And they’re hungry.

It seems as though this has been decades in the making, but it finally looks as though one of Brian Keene's most popular short stories is now ready for the big screen. Featuring fan favourites Tony Genova and Vince Napoli as they battle for their lives on a Christmas Eve they will never forget. The Naughty List looks set to be a huge hit in the horror community.
The Naughty List is a cautionary black comedy tale based on the short story 'The Siqquism Who Stole Christmas by Grand Master of Horror Brian Keene. It's Reservoir Dogs meets Elf - the perfect Christmas story for those who prefer their seasonal stories a bit more Bad Santa than Home Alone.
The Naughty List is Directed by award winning filmmaker and visual effects artist Paul Campion (The Devil's Rock, Sin City, Lord of the Rings).
The cast is made up by Vincenzo Nicoli (Alien 3, Captain Phillips), Sebastian Knapp and Mac Elsey.
An ancient evil is unleashed in a small Mississippi town leaving a trail of death and destruction as it passes from host to host. The only hope of survival lies with a grizzled demon hunter (Dolph Lundgren) who has faced this terror before. Together with a reluctant FBI agent (Kristina Klebe) he has to figure out how to destroy a demon with the ability to possess its killer.
The latest film from Mike Mendez, the man behind the brillaint Big Ass Spider! has a new film out that needs or help to get the distibution it needs. I'm going to to support this project and I think you should as well, it looks like a lot of fun.
Full details can be found here, but some of the perks look amazing, from DVD's, replica props, signed `Boxing Gloves, and lunch with the producers. Lets get behind this and get it off the ground.
Here is why they need our help :-
The good news is that the actual making of the movie is finished. It’s filmed and post production has just been completed.
But theyhave some work to do to make this movie ready to be distributed. This is where they need your help.
They are on Indiegogo to raise money for two reasons:
1) After a movie is finished, there are several technical items that need to be created in order to get the movie out there. This process is called Delivery.
They need to create the Final Audio Mix, items such as the DCP (hard drive used for theatrical exhibition), have the film put through the Quality Control process, and more. They are expensive items, and they have to be done. It isn’t fun or pretty, but it’s a very important part of the process and your help is needed.
2) Lots of demons. Gory, bloody deaths. This movie looks amazing and deserves to be seen on the big screen.
But between cutting a new (and WAY less bloody) trailer for MPAA approval, MPAA fees, insurance, advertising, and the other costs of a theatrical distribution (P&A)
