Today is great day. The much anticipated sequel to John LLewellyn Probert's brilliant The Nine Deaths of Dr Valentine has now had its cover revealed.
If this is anything like the first book then we are all in for an amazing read. The previous book captured the feel and flamboyant nature of the very best Vincent Price films.
Here it is the full front cover to The Hammer of Dr. Valentine, the much anticipated sequel to John Llewellyn Probert’s award-winning novella The Nine Deaths of Dr. Valentine. Artwork is by Seattle resident Nick Gucker, whose drawings have featured in Strange Aeons magazine as well as Spectral’s The Christmas Ghost Stories of Lawrence Gordon Clark, with final typeface flourishes by the inestimable Neil Williams.
The book will be available in Ltd Edition signed and numbered HB (100 only), unlimited PB, and unlimited eBook, and is due to be published within the next month to six weeks. In the meantime you can pre-order the Ltd. HB on the buttons below. All prices quoted include postage and packing.
The perfect gift for the horror fan in your life who has everything
Struggling to come up with ideas for Christmas and Birthday presents for the fickle horror fan in your life? You are? Then why don't you get them a handcrafted chopping / cutting board emblazoned with a rather smart zombie graphic.
The boards are made by the craftsman Dave Stencil, he had this to say about the genesis of this idea.
This project spawned from last year's Xmas gifts to my family, where I etched custom logos onto cutting boards for my family. I love zombie stuff inherently, and got the idea from the "cut here" symbol (with the scissors on the dotted line), so what better way to show how to take the undead down, than by illustrating it on a cutting board!
My funding goal is low because they are handmade by myself in a dark, abandoned workshop in San Diego, so i can make them individually with no minimums. I am just attempting to secure my materials and shop fees, and to see if I can infect a few more kitchens in the process... which in turn, gives me more time for tinkering in a workshop like I love to do (and prepare for the apocalypse of course).
THIS CAMPAIGN ENDS MIDNIGHT ON HALLOWEEEEN! HOW SPOOKY!!?
You: "What undead cutting board options are available?"
Me: I will be offering bamboo, maple, cherry, and mahogany. I will offer 2 sizes, 9"x13" standard cutting board, and 5.5"x15" cheese/bread board. I also present to you, 3 different soul-less walkers to chop down to size. I would love to add more character choices if I can exceed funding goals!
My opinion.. Cherry looks the best.

Stuck On You and Other Prime Cuts By Jasper Bark
Hold onto your hat, your fur coats and if you have them your knickers. The ever fabulous Jasper Bark has unleashed his brand new collection. Stuck On You and Other Prime Cuts is a collection of horror stories that could only be told by the irrepressible Mr Bark, the man responsible for getting all the Morningside mums in a furor.
A word of caution gentle reader, these tales will take you places you’ve never been before and may never dare revisit. They’ll whisper truths so twisted you can only face them in the darkest hours of the night. They’ll unlock desires so decadent you’ll never wash their taint from your flesh.
All it takes is a single turn of the page and your taste in dark fiction will be transformed forever. So you have to ask yourself: ‘How daring do I feel...?’

Birmingham-based film company, Venomous Little Man (“VLM”) are looking for investors for their next project, as they prepare to shoot and produce their next motion picture.
Bad Medicine is a feature length, psychological horror film. It takes place in a mental health ward during a therapy session, where the participants tell their individual stories of the horrific and shocking events that led them to be where they are now. The film is a horror portmanteau featuring five short films bound together by a wrap -around story.
With filming scheduled to start in December 2014 in and around Birmingham, “Bad Medicine” was written by Amazon #1 bestselling horror author DAVE JEFFERY, and is the follow-up to the highly successful “Ascension”, which scooped the “Best Director” gong at the 2013 Bram Stoker Film Festival for JAMES HART.
It is no coincidence that some of the actors who worked on VLM’s previous film have not hesitated to sign up again for this next thrilling project. Based on the praise that “Ascension” received, they have all jumped at the chance to be part of what promises to be another “scarily-good” film.
Both Jeffery and Hart have enlisted a seasoned, stellar cast for “Bad Medicine”, which includes BARBIE WILDE (HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, GRIZZLY II), DEREK MELLING, (ASCENSION, INBRED, THE ELECTRICIAN), LAURENCE SAUNDERS (ASCENSION, DEADTIME, THE SEASONING HOUSE, THE VILLAGE, EASTENDERS, DOCTORS), MARK RATHBONE (ASCENSION, INBRED, CRADLE OF FEAR) and TIM DRY (XTRO, RETURN OF THE JEDI).
“Bad Medicine” will be edited by Richard O’Connor. As the prime editor on award-winning “Ascension”, O’Connor has extensive experience in lighting and stage design and an impressive history of theatre.
VLM are looking for investors to help raise the £35,000 it will cost to fund the production of the film. Investment can start from as little as £1, although bigger outlay will understandably result in greater rewards. The funds will go to cast and crew fees, special creature FX and editing/sound design. Every person or organisation who donates will receive something for their commitment – from a special mention on the credit list of the final movie to VIP tickets to the first screenings, or an opportunity to meet the entire cast and crew at the premiere after-party, or a Producer credit. The INDIEGOGO campaign launched on SUNDAY, 31st AUGUST and will run for 60 days.
