This is a must for all horror fans, Birth of the Living Dead, is a fabulous documentary that charts the birth of the grandfather of all zombie movies.
In 1968 a young college drop-out named George A. Romero gathered an unlikely team - from Pittsburgh policeman, iron workers, housewives and a roller rink owner – to create a low budget horror film that would revolutionise the industry, and spawn a new flesh eating monster that endures to this day…that film was ‘’Night of The Living Dead’’.
“Birth of the Living Dead”, is the story of how they managed to pull off the greatest guerrilla shoot of all time. This documentary includes exclusive new interviews with the godfather of zombie films George A. Romero himself, as well as brand new animations created by Gary Pullin. Put together with 60’s archival footage this film shows just how politically charged “Night’’ was, set against the backdrop of race riots and Vietnam the film challenged the establishment and had
enormous fun doing it.With a range of candid interviews and fascinating insight ‘’Birth of the Living Dead’’ is an absolute must have for any horror fan,
enter the original Zombie Universe, but remember ‘they are coming to get you Barbara’…

This is probably the most anticipated book for me personally this year. I kicked myself for not picking up a copy of Motherless Child when it was initially released as a limited edition. So many people whose opinions I regard very highly when it comes to horror books have praised this book . Released on 13 May 2014, this is one bookj you really don't want to miss out on.
In his powerful novel, Motherless Child, Bram Stoker Award–nominee Glen Hirshberg, author of the International Horror Guild Award–winning American Morons, exposes the fallacy of the Twilight-style romantic vampire while capturing the heart of every reader.
It’s the thrill of a lifetime when Sophie and Natalie, single mothers living in a trailer park in North Carolina, meet their idol, the mysterious musician known only as “the Whistler.” Morning finds them covered with dried blood, their clothing shredded and their memories hazy. Things soon become horrifyingly clear: the Whistler is a vampire and Natalie and Sophie are his latest victims. The young women leave their babies with Natalie’s mother and hit the road, determined not to give in to their unnatural desires.
Hunger and desire make a powerful couple. So do the Whistler and his Mother, who are searching for Sophie and Natalie with the help of Twitter and the musician’s many fans. The violent, emotionally moving showdown between two who should be victims and two who should be monsters will leave readers gasping in fear and delight.
Originally published in a sold-out, limited edition, Motherless Child is an extraordinary Southern horror novel that Tor Books is proud to bring to a wider audience.
"Hirshberg is an amazing writer who makes the materials of horror into what they were supposed to be all along-grandly sweeping, capable of tremendous reach, and open to all aspects of human experience.Motherless Child shows him at the peak of his form."
-- Peter Straub
"A subversive, thrilling novel that subverts everything we've come to expect from tales that traffic in the undead, Motherless Child is as heartbreaking as it is terrifying, a breakneck midnight ride through a part of America too seldom visited in fiction. It's Glen Hirshberg as his best, and I can offer no higher praise than that."
-- Elizabeth Hand, author of Generation Loss
"A compelling tale of the supernatural that gives it a human face. Beautifully written, it reinvents one of the inconic monsters in ways that are both classical and up to the minute. We can be sure horror fiction is still vital when it's reimagined as freshly and vigorously as this."
-- Ramsey Campbell, author of Ghosts Know and The Darkest Part of the Woods
"Always one of his generation's finest stylists, its most able students of character, [Glen Hirshberg] has written one of the best books of the year."
-- John Langan, The Los Angeles Review of Books
"...this book is the front-runner for when I pick my best horror novel of 2012. The vampire novel has survived TWILIGHT and is dead and kicking as ever, and it will remain so as long as there are writers of Hirshberg's caliber to ring new changes on this venerable archetype."

Tomas Boykin (Lazarus Rising, I Am) has been cast as Father Alexander, the priest that comes to read Richard Sullivan (played by Brian Thompson) his last rites.
Casting announcements for Mr. Bates, Johnny the Janitor, and the Commanding Officer will be announced before the May 15th start date of the film's Kickstarter fundraiser. Producer Peter Simeti informs us that all three roles will be filled by some well-known faces (and voices), adding further to the fan-favorite cast.
A talented production crew is also being added, featuring Stunt Coordinator Paul Lacovara (Avengers, Godzilla, Thor) , Production Designer Tim Eckel (CSI, Veronica Mars, Hellraiser 3), Key Grip Anthony Ragonese (Dead Man's Curve, Desperate Housewives) , Hair Stylist Lisa Meyers (Gangster Squad, Without a Trace, Freaks and Geeks) , and iconic horror film composer Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street, White Lightning, Cujo) .
THE CHAIR follows the story of Richard Sullivan (Brian Thompson), an innocent man struggling to escape execution on death row. Witnessing the torture and murder of his fellow inmates at the hands of the prison's sadistic and psychotic Warden (Bill Oberst Jr.), Sullivan decides that the only way to survive is to fight back. But as he matches the savagery and brutality occurring in the prison, Sullivan is forced to come face to face with his own sanity.
DUAL-FORMAT BLU-RAY & DVD RELEASE – 12th May 2014
Arrow Video is thrilled to announce the release of the classic 80s monster movie The Beast Within. This ‘deliciously dirty, gloriously grotesque exercise in reined-in and masterfully executed lunacy’ will be released uncut for the first time in the UK on Blu-ray and DVD 12th May 2014.
The original trailer for the film commanded “Warning” which was sprawled out in bold red letters catching the audience’s attention. This was quickly followed by a scroll (accompanied by a stern authoritative voice) explaining that the last thirty minutes of the movie will be far too gruesome for even the most hardened horror fan. With all this promised, fans knew they were in for a treat. And today, some 32 years down the line, the film still holds a place in the hearts of horror fans across the globe where now it will sit amongst other classic 80s horror titles in the Arrow Video catalogue.

When enigmatic poet Henry Coronado disappears six months after the New Year’s Eve, 1959, Welcoming Chaos event, he takes with him a profound secret wrapped within the words of his poem, Autumn In The Abyss. Fifty years later, an ill man’s research into Coronado’s work and life reveals that poetry can indeed change the world, or leave it in ruins.
The Word is a living thing...and often with lethal intentions.
Reality is the strangest mirror...
“The stories in John Claude Smith's new collection take their characters to the limits of human experience, the places where our bodies come asunder in the face of the abyss. Positioning his stories in the seams of our cultural history, Smith chronicles the efforts of artists of all stripes--poets, musicians, sculptors, filmmakers--to break through our common experience to another, more essential one that is painted in blood. It's a quest that draws these artists into proximity with the serial-killer in the book's single and singular tale of a police detective's obsessive manhunt. Whether with pen or carving knife, Smith's characters will not stop until they have gone too far, into a space where revelation and terror are part of the same, vast thing."
—John Langan, author of The Wide, Carnivorous Sky and Other Monstrous Geographies
“These five emotionally complex tales ask, above all, what it means to be human in a tempestuous universe. What part of ourselves do we owe to the pursuit of goodness, especially if there's no apparent advantage to being good? How can we define ourselves in the absence of moral authority? Blurred lines of identity, the role of the artist, and the nature of temptation are explored in these stories of sacrifice and self-destruction. Autumn in the Abyss is another dark and captivating collection from a writer who isn't afraid to plumb the depths of our greatest and most dangerous desires."
—S.P. Miskowski, Shirley Jackson Award nominated author of The Skillute Cycle
”The best compliment for any artist is leaving the audience desperately wanting more. And that’s exactly what John Claude Smith accomplishes with the tour de force of Autumn in the Abyss. The title novelette is a breathtaking exercise in dark fantasy—a surreal, unabashedly literary, horrific mystery with a surprising, heartrending truth at its end. It’s a tough act to follow, and yet the next four tales not only hold their own, but occasionally even up the ante. The novelette “Becoming Human” is a chilling mix of the serial killer genre and… something much more frightening. And three shorter tales all share a common gatekeeping character, as Smith explores some “Night Gallery” style places that are… just beyond the pale. Smart, creepy, unexpected … these are stories from that nightmare zone that will stick with you long after midnight. Hell, these are stories that will haunt you beneath the bright sun at noon. This is one of the best collections I’ve read in years!"
—John Everson, Bram Stoker Award-Winning Author of NightWhere and Violet Eyes
”The Rhythmic flow of John's words instantly absorbs you into his world, bringing not only his words to life but the story as well."
—Joe Mynhardt, Crystal Lake Publishing
